This Privacy Policy explains how Esteem ("the Game", "we", "us") handles information when you play on Android.

1. Information We Collect

Google Play Games

If you sign in with Google Play Games, we receive your Play Games player ID. This is used solely to submit and retrieve leaderboard scores and unlock achievements. We do not store your Google account name or email address.

Local Game Data

The Game saves a small file on your device (.esteem) containing:

• High scores
• Unlocked achievements
• Music and sound preferences
• Language preference
• Tutorial completion state

This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

Device Locale

We read your device locale once at startup to select the correct in-game language. This is not stored or shared.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect names, email addresses, or any other personal identifiers.
• We do not run ads or use any advertising SDK.
• We do not use analytics services (e.g. Firebase, Crashlytics).
• We do not offer in-app purchases.
• We do not sell or share any data with third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Esteem integrates with Google Play Games Services for leaderboards and achievements. Google's use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out by not signing in to Play Games when prompted.

4. Children's Privacy

The Game is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

5. Data Retention

Local game data persists on your device until you uninstall the app or clear the app's data. Play Games leaderboard data is managed by Google and subject to their retention policies.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
